MailGun Lets You Send Bulk eMails Through SMTP And Track Them With Powerful Analytics
Mailgun is an email automation service provided by Rackspace. It offers a complete cloud-based email service for sending, receiving and tracking email sent through your websites and applications. Mailgun features are available through an intuitive RESTful API or using traditional email protocols like SMTP.
Mailgun provides users with a free account where you can send 10,000 emails every month for FREE. Yes, absolutely free and there is no hidden charges. You can use their SMTP server for FREE. This is great news for smaller businesses that are on a budget or for those who wants to test out Mailgun’s services. Of course, if you only need to send less than 10,000 emails a month, then they are perfect for you too!
The power of Mailgun comes in its wide array of use cases. Mailgun is capable of integrating with a local postfix service, sending email through SMTP and integrating programmatically with your existing cloud applications. For example, Mailgun, when properly configured, can deliver emails from a content management system (CMS) such as WordPress or any mailer software used for sending mass emails. Mailgun can also be used to handle incoming emails.
MailGun engagement report gives you visibility into total clicks/opens, unsubscribes, and complaints so you have a complete picture of your engagement with both positive and negative events shown. Mailgun keeps track of every time a recipient opens and clicks on links in your messages. You can see when Opens and Clicks happen in the Logs tab or see counters of opens and clicks aggregated by tags in the Analytics tab of the Control Panel.
Mailgun also keeps track of every time a recipient requests to be unsubscribed from your mailings. If you enable unsubscribe tracking, Mailgun will insert unsubscribe links and remove those recipients from your mailings automatically for you. You can see when unsubscribes happen in the Logs tab or see counters of unsubscribes aggregated by tags in the Analytics tab of the MailGun Control Panel.
As at the time of publishing this post, I am using MailGun to power this blog and the Ogbongeblog forum. I also use MailGun SMTP with a premium Mailer software to send thousands of emails.
You can get started by creating your account at www.mailgun.com
